Conservation

The ARTEX Conservation Laboratory provides a full range of Conservation Services for museums, art galleries, and government agencies, in addition to private and corporate collectors.

Specializing in painting conservation, four professional staff conservators preserve and restore easel paintings and wall paintings of all kinds. All ARTEX Conservation Staff have extensive training and experience in the conservation field and abide by the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice of the American Institute for Conservation. Ongoing collaboration with other qualified conservators of paintings, sculpture, works of art on paper, and contemporary art, enables ARTEX to provide an even wider array of conservation services.

State-of-the-art Conservation Facilities at ARTEX DC have been designed and equipped to provide museum-quality art conservation examination and treatment. Works of art from anywhere in the country can be transported to Washington, DC by the ARTEX fleet of climate-controlled, air-ride trucks.

Conservation project management and consulting services are available. Scientific analysis and art appraisal can be arranged for works of art being treated in the ARTEX Conservation Laboratory.
